DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION.
When Dr Wright, Headmaster of Queen's College,, retires, the College will be put under the Head of the Education Department. This was laid down in the correspondence arising out of the ram port on the Committee on Education in 1902 (I am sorry I am un- able to give now a more exact reference) The salary of the Headmaster of the College is the same as mine is at present €4,800 €5,400 with double compensation. The school has an enrolment of 1500 boys, and shelters besides the Evening Conw tinuation Classes which already number 200 students, and of which the direct control should be, as it now is not, in the hands of the Headmaster. I do not therefore think it likely
